Hobart: Fast bowler Mark Harrity spearheaded South Australia to a crushing innings win over Tasmania in its Sheffield Shield match on Sunday.[an error occurred while processing this directive]South Australia needed only three bowlers to dismiss Tasmania for 167 and win by an innings and 40 runs, in the process posting its first maximum six-point result of the season.Harrity destroyed Tasmania's top order and finished with five for 65. Paul Rofe, whose accuracy strangled the Tasmanian batsmen, took three for 24 from 20 overs with 13 maidens, while left-arm spinner Brad Young took two for 71 from 31.South Australian captain Darren Lehmann's 246 on Saturday enabled him to declare at the overnight score of 589 for five a first innings lead of 207 runs. That left Tasmania with the prospect of batting through the final day simply to save the match, but Harrity and Rofe ended its hopes. Deposed Test opener Michael Slater steered New South Wales (NSW) to an outright victory over Victoria in Melbourne.NSW finished on 117 for three, chasing only 115 runs for victory, thanks to a brisk 76-run stand between Slater (58 not out) and Mark Higgs (32 not out), which rescued the Blues from a shaky 41 for three.Higgs scored the winning boundary under leaden skies, about an hour before rain returned. Victoria resumed on 69 for four and reached 193, with Ian Harvey making 48 and former Test opener Matthew Elliott batting at number seven because of a stomach virus, top scoring with 50.Opening bowler Stuart Clark snared five for 47, his second five-wicket bag of the season, while Stuart MacGill's four for 54 gave him eight for 125 for the match. It was NSW's second outright win of the summer, while the result left Victoria with no wins after three games.
