Jaipur: Madhya Pradesh made a strong reply in its second innings reaching 180 for three on the third day of its Central Zone Ranji Trophy league match here on Monday after conceding a 57-run lead to hosts Rajasthan.[an error occurred while processing this directive] Rajasthan resumed its first innings at overnight 200 for six and were all out for 270 with skipper Gagan Khoda making 65 runs. Madhya Pradesh then produced a far better performance than its first innings, when it was all out for 213, to make the chances of an outright victory for the hostslook bleak.Half-centuries by opener C P Sahu and Amay Khurasia enabled Madhya Pradesh go 123 runs ahead with seven wickets in hand. They once again had a disastrous start losing opener Abhinav Bhatt when the total was 13. Bhatt was out for two for the second time in the match. However, Sahu and Khurasia were involved in a solid 89-run stand for the second wicket to seize back the initiative for Madhya Pradesh. Sahu was finally caught by Lokesh Jain off Devendra Pal Singh after making 51 runs. Khurasia, who failed to score in the first innings, played a fine knock this time, scoring a good-looking 64 before becoming the second victim of veteran Sanjeev Sharma who had earlier dismissed Bhatt. Madhya Pradesh lost its third wicket at 153. At close, first innings top-scorer Abbas Ali was batting on 35 and Sulakshan Kulkarni was on 15. Sanjeev Sharma, who had taken six wickets in the first innings, once again was the pick of the Rajasthan bowlers claiming two of the three wickets to fall today. PTI
