Karachi: Pakistan opener Saeed Anwar has launched a cricketers fund for Afghan war victims and said on Saturday the national team was helping. "We will go door to door to collect funds for Afghan people and give it to the Presidents fund on Afghanistan," Anwar, who has become a devout Muslim, told AFP.[an error occurred while processing this directive]The campaign was launched in Lahore on Saturday where Pakistan captain Waqar Younis and ace fast bowler Wasim Akram were also present. "We realise the pain the Afghans are going through and want to contribute from our side," Saeed said."This is nothing to do with politics, we are just cricketers and our sentiments are to help our Muslim brothers in Afghanistan," added Younis. The team will go to different Pakistani cities and approach industrialists and other wealthy people for funds, he said.
