Brisbane: Medium-pacer Andrew Symonds gave Queensland a stranglehold over New South Wales after two days of its Sheffield Shield cricket match at the Gabba here on Monday.[an error occurred while processing this directive]NSW was struggling at 180 for seven in its second innings when bad light ended play 10 overs early. It led Queensland by just 90 runs with two days remaining after Symonds followed his first innings haul of 3 for 30 with a burst of 3 for 19 on Monday.He orchestrated a collapse of 5 for 31 as the Blues struggled against his medium pace, losing its grip on an encouraging second innings. Symonds removed leading run-scorers Greg Mail (56) and Michael Clarke and he also claimed danger-man Mark Higgs (four).Earlier, Queensland was all out for 236 after captain Stuart Law led it to first innings points with a valuable 70. Western Australia crashed through the South Australian lower order to take innings points on day two of its match at Adelaide Oval. SA lost its last seven wickets for 43, with Matt Nicholson taking 4 for 58 and Jo Angel 3 for 48 as WA dismissed SA for 206 to lead by 21 on the first innings, after scoring 227 on Sunday.South Australian opener Ben Johnson scored an unbeaten 121 and Chris Davies chipped in with 52.WA was no wicket for 23 at stumps, an overall lead of 44, with Scott Meuleman on 14 and Mike Hussey on seven.
