Bangalore: Thatscricket.com's Mamatha Maben has been selected among the 22 India probables undergoing training at Delhi for England's tour of India. The England women's team will play five One-day Internationals and one Test during January, 2002.
|The first three One-day Internationals will be played on January 6 (Chennai), January 8, January 9 (both at Hyderabad), followed by the Test at Mumbai from January 14 to 17. The last two One-dayers will be played on January 20 (Kolkata) and January 24 (Pune), according to the tentative schedules. A string of good performances, both with the bat and the ball during the South Zone inter-state, National and Rani Jhansi Inter-Zonal Championships, helped Maben come back into the national reckoning after a gab of eight years. Maben played for Karnataka and also led the South Zone team in the Inter-Zonal championship. Maben, who scored 54 against Railways, 53 not out against Central Zone, 83 not out against North Zone, 41 against West Zone and also claimed six wickets, was declared as the Player-of-the-Tournament in the Inter-Zonal meet.
