Kolkata: The BCCI chief Jagmohan Dalmiya on Thursday congratulated the Indian team for its 10-wicket win over England in the first Test and urged it to go for a clean sweep of the three-Test series. In a message to the Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly, Dalmiya praised the team for its "outstanding" performance but said, "there should be no room for complacency. We should not stop at anything short of a clean sweep in the Test series".The BCCI president had special word of praise for the effort of Deep Dasgupta for his first Test century as well as the bowling of Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh while appreciating the contributions of Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Tinu Yohannon and Iqbal Siddiqui."No word of praise is perhaps enough for Anil and Harbhajan. My special congratulations to you for leading the team from the front," Dalmiya said in his message to Ganguly.Incidentally, only last week at the end of a 12-day stand-off with the International Cricket Council (ICC) over cricketers' punishment issue, Dalmiya had declared that the Board has fought for the team and now it is the team's turn to perform."We stood by the team and now I am in a position to ask them to stand by us by performing on the field," Dalmiya had said adding, "boys come on, things have been set right, go play and rise to the occasion and prove yourself through performance on the ground."PTI
