New Delhi: In a gesture benefitting state units in more ways than one, Indian Airlines will charge only 50 per cent of the fare for players participating in all the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)-run domestic tournaments.
|The concession will cover all major tournaments like the Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Irani Trophy besides those for different age groups down to under-14 level. The offer came from Civil Aviation Minister Shahnawaz Hussain when BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya called on him on Friday. The concession will help BCCI-affiliated units to save on time and cost while sending players for various tournaments, said Board and Delhi Cricket Association vice-president C K Khanna, who accompanied Dalmiya. Dalmiya reciprocated the Minister's gesture by announcing that Indian Airlines will be BCCI's official carrier. Extras:|
