New Delhi: The fate of coach John Wright and physio Andrew Leipus will be decided in Bangalore at the end of the current Test series against England later this month.Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Jagmohan Dalmiya, who held inconclusive discussions with Wright and Leipus here on Saturday, will meet them again on December 23, the last day of the third and final Test when a decision over their future is likely to be taken. Both Wright and Leipus have already completed their one-year tenure.Refusing to go into the specifics of Saturdays meeting, Dalmiya told reporters that the team's performance in South Africa was the main point of discussions. He stressed on the importance of a consistent performance from the national team, which the BCCI president said needed to drastically improve its showing on foreign soil.Wright took over as coach before the home series against Zimbabwe in November last year. During his tenure, the team recorded a spectacular series win against Australia apart from defeating Zimbabwe, but was badly mauled in Sri Lanka and South Africa. Even the return tour to Zimbabwe was none-too-impressive with the two Test series ending in a 1-1 draw.Similarly Leipus has been unable to control a spate of injuries in the team with even such senior players like captain Saurav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar having to miss matches due to injuries. The fitness of fast bowlers has been a perennial source of headache for the team management. PTI
