Bangalore: India reached 218 for seven at stumps in reply to England's 336 as rain prevented play after tea on the third day of the third and final cricket Test on Friday.Persistent bad weather and Virender Sehwag frustrated England as the tourists tried to gain a substantial first innings lead over India in the final Test.Rain and bad light allowed just 19 overs in the afternoon session in which India added 69 runs to its lunch score of 149 for five.Sehwag survived the loss of master batsman Sachin Tendulkar for 90 to hammer a quickfire 66 off 88 balls, which included 13 boundaries.Sehwag was dismissed just before tea, edging a catch to wicket-keeper James Foster to give fast bowler Matthew Hoggard his third wicket of the innings.Anil Kumble was unbeaten on 10 at the break, while Harbhajan Singh had yet to score.Tendulkar missed his 28th century by 10 runs when, frustrated by left-arm spinner's Ashley Giles' leg-stump line, he stepped out to drive and was stumped for the first time in his 89-Test career. In the previous over of Giles, Tendulkar had taken 12 runs to complete 1,000 runs in the calendar year of 2001 from 10 Tests.
