Karnataka on verge of victory against Kerala

Bangalore: Karnataka was on the verge of victory against Kerala on the third day of the four-day South Zone Ranji Trophy league match in Bangalore on Thursday, needing 36 runs with 10 wickets in hand to gain full points.
Resuming from the overnight 293 for seven, Karnataka was all out for 342, in reply to Kerala's 228, gaining a first innings lead of 114. The hosts then bowled out Kerala for 187 in its second innings, as Venkatesh Prasad and Dodda Ganesh grabbed four wickets each, giving Karnataka a modest victory target of 74. At stumps, Karnataka was 38 without loss. Highlight of Kerala's second innings was a fine 90 run partnership for the eighth wicket between Sreekumaran Nair (55) and Suresh Kumar (unbeaten 53).
