Bangalore: Karnataka was on the verge of victory against Kerala on the third day of the four-day South Zone Ranji Trophy league match in Bangalore on Thursday, needing 36 runs with 10 wickets in hand to gain full points.
|Resuming from the overnight 293 for seven, Karnataka was all out for 342, in reply to Kerala's 228, gaining a first innings lead of 114. The hosts then bowled out Kerala for 187 in its second innings, as Venkatesh Prasad and Dodda Ganesh grabbed four wickets each, giving Karnataka a modest victory target of 74. At stumps, Karnataka was 38 without loss. Highlight of Kerala's second innings was a fine 90 run partnership for the eighth wicket between Sreekumaran Nair (55) and Suresh Kumar (unbeaten 53). |
