Bangalore: Rain and bad light frustrated England's bid to put India in the dock on the third day of the third and final Test in Bangalore on Friday.
The tourists, looking for a win to draw the three-match series, embarrassed India's batting might to reduce the hosts to 218 for seven in the first innings in reply to their own total of 336.
Despite India's precarious position, Indian coach John Wright warned his team was still capable of winning the match.
"It's not over yet," he said. "If the rain stays away there could still be some good cricket played over the next two days. "But mark my words, India is not out of the picture yet. England still has to bat again a second time."
