Patel to lead India's under-19 World Cup team

Mumbai: Parthiv Patel of Gujarat will lead the Indian cricket team for the under-19 World Cup to be held in New Zealand in January.
 The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Niranjan Shah said that the junior selection committee, which met in Bangalore on Monday selected Y Gnaneswara Rao of Andhra Pradesh to be his deputy in the 14-member squad. The team: Parthiv Patel (captain), Siddharth Trivedi, Y Gnaneswara Rao, Manvinder Bisla, Deepak Chowgule, Stuart Binny, Irfan Pathan, Chandrasekhar Atram, Rakesh Mohanty, Abishek Sharma, Khanin Sekia, Chandan Madan, Mohnish Mishra and Paul Valthaty. Standbyes: T Suman, G Shankar Rao, Alind Naidu, Nitin Agarwal and Timil Patel. Officials: Dilip Vengsarkar (consultant), B S Sandhu (coach), A Rana (physio) and Aniraag Thakur (manager).
