Mumbai: Armed with a battery of good bowling attack and a good season in recent past, defending champions Indian Junior team should be able to retain the prestigious under-19 World Cup to be played in New Zealand later in January, team consultant Dilip Vengsarkar said in Mumbai on Thursday.[an error occurred while processing this directive]For a change we have a very good bowling attack and the boys had a very good session at Bangalore and Mumbai, Vengsarkar told reporters on the eve of the team's departure.He said it was a well balanced team with the best talent available in the country and added the colts were not under pressure and fit and keen to give their best.We also have good all-rounders and the boys would do well, he said adding the team will leave early on Friday for Australia. Besides, three matches in Australia before the World Cup the team would also play as many practice matches in New Zealand, he said. These pre-World Cup engagements would acclimatise the boys with conditions in New Zealand.Coach Balwinder Singh Sandhu said the 14-member team was looking forward to the tournament with sheer determination and unity of purpose. He said that the camp at Bangalore had helped the side.Skipper Parthiv Patel of Gujarat said the team has worked hard and the England colts tour in 2001 has also helped the side.India placed in Group A along with South Africa, Bangladesh and Americas Qualifier, will play its opening match against the American side on January 21 at Auckland.
