Hyderabad: Indian women scored a thumping nine wicket victory over England in the second Hero Honda One-day International cricket match, reduced to 23 overs due to sluggish outfield, at the Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday.[an error occurred while processing this directive]Electing to field, India restricted the visitors to 71 for seven in its stipulated overs with medium pacer and woman-of-the-match Jhulan Goswami ripping through the England top order by claiming three wickets for eight runs.Chasing a modest total, with an asking rate of three per over, Indian openers Anju Jain and Anjum Chopra, though troubled initially by medium pacer Lucy Pearson, gave a steady start before Anju (10) was run out.Mithali Raj joined skipper Anjum (36 not out) and the two made the required 72 with 2.4 overs to spare and helped India lead 2-0 in the five-match series.Overnight heavy rains dampened the outfield and there were pools of water all around and play could not take off at the scheduled time of 9.30 am. After three inspections, it was finally decided to start play at 2.10 pm reducing it to 23 overs a side. The hosts won the first match at Chennai. The third match would be played at the same venue in Hyderabad on Wednesday. PTI
