England tour of India - Cricket: YC demonstrates against hike in ticket prices

Kolkata: About 40 Youth Congress (YC) activists on Thursday demonstrated in front of the Cricket Association of Bengal office at Eden Gardens and burnt an effigy of CAB and BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmia for making the prices of tickets for the January 19 One-dayer between India and England abnormally high.The YC activists from Burrabazar area also submitted a memorandum to the CAB president in this regard this evening when both the teams were practicing in the Eden Gardens amidst tight security.The decision had deprived a large number of cricket lovers from witnessing the match, the demonstrators alleged. However, the YC activists dispersed after senior police officials intervened. There was no arrest, police said. PTI
