Chennai: The newly refurbished Royal Sundaram (RS) Stand at the M A Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk was unveiled by TNCA president, A C Muthiah and the managing director of Royal Sundaram, Micky Brigg, on the occasion of the India-England One-dayer.Speaking on the occasion, Muthiah said, traditionally the D stand was very special and prestigious part of the stadium. It is wonderful to see it come to life once again, with this celebration and refurnishing.A company press release said on Friday that it would be the responsibility of Royal Sundaram, an insurance company, to maintain and upkeep the stand, capable of accommodating nearly 7500 people. Located opposite the pavilion, it offered the best view in the sprawling stadium. Commenting on the five-year deal with the TNCA, Brigg said sports best represented the true spirit of the company the drive towards best performance, endless ambitions and innate confidence.PTI
