New Delhi: Indian middle-order batsman Venkat Sai Laxman was dropped from the One-day squad for the remaining three matches of the series against England."Laxman has not been among runs lately and a break will help him regain form," chief selector Chandu Borde said. Mohammad Kaif, who has played four Tests but is yet to play in a One-day International, has replaced Laxman.Laxman, who made an Indian Test record of 281 to play a key role in his team's stunning 2-1 win over Australia in 2001, managed just 25, 3 and 6 in his three One-dayers against England.India currently leads the six-match series 2-1 following its four-wicket victory over the tourists in a day-night game at Chennai on Friday. The remaining matches will be played at Kanpur (January 28), Delhi (January and Mumbai (February 3)."Fielding is also an important aspect and Laxman was found wanting there too," Borde said. Laxman, considered one of the safest fielders in the squad, dropped two catches, including that of England opener Marcus Trescothick, in the opening day-night match at Kolkata. The England batsman made the most of the reprieve as he smashed a superb 121 to almost snatch the game from India. India: Saurav Ganguly (captain), Sachin Tendulkar, Dinesh Mongia, Virender Sehwag, Hemang Badani, Mohammad Kaif, Ajay Ratra, Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ajit Agarkar, Sarandeep Singh and Sanjay Bangar.
