Pune: National Selection Committee chairman Chandu Borde on Saturday voiced concern over India's fielding standard and middle order which had a tendency to collapse in crunch situations.Indians were cruising along well while chasing England's 217 in the third One-day International on Friday but they made a mess of their chase by gifting away wickets mid-way through their innings before winning by a four-wicket margin."The bowlers as well as openers did a good job, but what needs greater attention is fielding and also middle order batting," he told reporters. "If these are improved then India will fare even better."Expressing delight on being awarded Padma Bhushan, he said, "The award proves that hard work and sincerity pay in the long run. Whatever work I have undertaken in this field, I have done it with utmost honesty and dedication.""The award is certainly a great honour and I am very happy. It is gratifying when one gets people's appreciation, family's support in good and bad days and God's blessing."The award is the sangam (combination) of all three," he added. PTI
