Kolkata: Indian cricket captain Saurav Ganguly arrived here on Monday morning from Mumbai by a Jet Airways flight amidst tight security arrangements.
The flight landed on schedule and a tired looking Ganguly, who was received at the airport by family members drove home immediately after arrival escorted by a police vehicle. The Indian skipper was expected to take part in the Ranji Trophy quarter-final match between Bengal and Gujarat starting at Eden Gardens on Tuesday.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had deferred the Ranji Trophy quarter-final matches by a few days to enable the national team members to participate in the championships and prepare themselves for the forthcoming series against Zimbabwe at home. Meanwhile, security has been beefed up around Ganguly's residence in Behala located in the Southern part of the city following the attack on the Americam Centre and the kidnapping threats.
