New Delhi: Indian middle-order batsman Virender Sehwag has been ruled out of the One- day series against Zimbabwe due to a shoulder injury, a top official said on Sunday.
"He is not available for the next two weeks because of shoulder injury," Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president C K Khanna said in a statement. "He is ruled out of the One-day series but will be fit for West Indies tour," said Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly. Local hero Sehwag, who smashed 74 in the first innings, suffered the injury while diving for an attempted catch off Grant Flower off leg spinner Anil Kumble during the Zimbabwean second innings. The first One-day will be played on Thursday at Faridabad in the northern Indian state of Haryana.
