Lahore: Pakistan's youthful pacer Mohammad Sami achieved a Test hat-trick as Sri Lanka was bowled out for 528 in its first innings on day three of the Asian Test championship final on Friday. Sami dismissed Buddhika Fernando in the last ball before lunch. With his next two deliveries after the break, he took out Nuwan Zoysa and Muthiah Muralitharan to become Pakistan's third bowler to achieve a Test hat-trick. The 21-year-old from Karachi also achieved a hat-trick in the One-day International against the West Indies in Sharjah last month. Veteran pacer Wasim Akram achieved back-to-back hat-tricks against Sri Lanka, first in the league game in Lahore and then in the final of the Asian Test championship in Dhaka in 1998-99. Akram was previously the only bowler to achieve Test and One-day hat-tricks. Abdur Razzaq took a hat-trick against Sri Lanka at Galle two years ago.
