Perth: The girlfriend of England Test and One-day International cricketer Ben Hollioake, killed in a car crash here last month, has left the intensive care unit at Royal Perth Hospital, authorities said on Monday.
Janaya Scholten has been transferred to the hospital's rehabilitation wing, a spokeswoman said. Scholten, who turned 23 the day after the crash, suffered severe head and chest injuries when Hollioake's Porsche, in which she was a passenger, slammed into a brick wall as he left a Perth freeway exit in the suburb of South Perth, near where he was staying. The 24-year-old Australian-born all-rounder died at the scene of the crash. About 250 people, including England Test captain Nasser Hussain and former skipper Alec Stewart, attended Hollioake's funeral.
