With rain threatening to rob away the West Indies of a well deserved series win, West Indies did well to finish up the tail with out much fuss taking just 8.3 overs on Wednesday morning to win the match and the series 2-1.

Indians reached Sabina Park this morning without out much hope, except for a faint hope of rain, probably, coming to their rescue. Rain did put the West Indies on hold for a brief period but once the proceedings got underway, it did not take long for West Indies to finish off the tail. West Indies took the new ball right away and Cameron Cuffy struck the first blow when he trapped Ajay Ratra leg before wicket. He then cleaned bowled Javagal Srinath for his second wicket. Mervyn Dillon then picked up his only wicket of the second innings when Zaheer Khan holed out to Pedro Collins who took a well-judged catch. A little while later the rain came down. Man-of-the-match: Wavell Hinds
Man-of-the-series: Shivnarine Chandrapaul
