Kapil Dev is the representative of the LWSA (a innovative international charitable programme) and a jury member along with its chairman Edwin Moses, Franz Beckenbauer and Pele (former footballers), tennis star Boris Becker, athlete Sergey Bubka, basketballer Michael Jordan, boxer Sugar Ray Leonard and former West Indies great Viv Richards. The improvement in the Indian team's fielding from the Test side which lost the five-match series 1-2 clearly shows that One-day game is for youngsters, Kapil Dev said.Kapil Dev also hoped that the Indian sportspersons would one day bring the Laureus World sports awards, considered as the Oscars of the sporting world, to India. A video taped clippings of this year's awards function held at Monte Carlo was shown to the media where the team's award was bagged by Australia for winning 16 consecutive Tests last year.Among other award winners were Formula-1 World champion Michael Schumacher, bastketballer Michael Jordan, cyclist Lance Armstrong and tennis star Jennifer Capriati.
