Chennai: With skipper Saurav Ganguly being a doubtful starter for Fridays game against England after he pulled a hamstring muscle, leg spinner Anil Kumble was most likely to lead the Indian side in his absence. While the nature of his injury would be known only on Friday morning, there were reports that it could be serious enough to force Ganguly to miss the remainder of the series.A top official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India said in case of such an eventuality Kumble will lead the side in the remaining four One-day matches.Coach John Wright had earlier said either Kumble or batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar would be named captain in Ganguly's absence for Fridays match.PTI
