Delhi has so far hosted 13 Limited Overs Internationals (LOIs) at two grounds 11 at Ferozshah Kotla Ground (FKG) and 2 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (JNS). The two matches held at JNS are between India-Australia in 1984/85 and India-South Africa in 1991/92. Out of these 13 LOIs, two World Cup matches have been played here in both of which India has figured (vs Australia in 1987 and vs Sri Lanka in 1996) India had won against Australia but lost against Sri Lanka. England has never played against India at this venue although it has appeared in an LOI and won a match here when it played against Sri Lanka in 1989/90. India has played in all but two matches (an AustraliaZimbabwe match was also held in 1997/98) and has almost an even success rate as it has won 6 and lost 5 matches. The first match was held here way back in 1982/83 between India and Sri Lanka in which India triumphed. After over two years an LOI is staged here the last encounter being on November 17 1999 when India had registered an easy victory over New Zealand. The close encounters have been when India lost by 20 runs when it could not chase 196 in 45 overs vs West Indies in 1989/90 and Zimbabwe narrowly lost by 16 runs scaring Australia when it made 278 for nine while chasing a Australias 294 for three. Records given here under are confined to Delhi center irrespective of the two grounds. (All records are prior to the scheduled IndiaEngland match at this venue on 31st January 2002):
