London: England One-day specialist Paul Collingwood has delayed plans to have neck surgery, it was announced on Wednesday.
Durham all-rounder Collingwood was due to have an operation next week on a disc bulge at the bottom of his neck. However, his medication appears to be working and his injury will now be re-assessed by a specialist next week.

Collingwood, who featured in all seven of England's One-day International matches this summer, was recently named in the squad for September's ICC Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka. England already has a lengthy injury list and will be keen not to lose Collingwood for what is a key tournament in the build-up to next year's World Cup.
