Bangla opts to field vs NZ in inconsequential match

Colombo: Bangladesh captain Khaled Mashud elected to field after winning the toss against New Zealand in an inconsequential match of the Champions Trophy One-day tournament here on Monday.

Australia, India, South Africa and Sri Lanka have already qualified for the semi- finals. New Zealand: Stephen Fleming (captain), Nathan Astle, Matthew Sinclair, Lou Vincent, Scott Styris, Chris Harris, Jacob Oram, Kyle Mills, Daniel Vettori, Shane Bond and Paul Hitchcock. Bangladesh: Khaled Mashud (captain), Al Sahariyar, Tushar Imran, Mohammad Ashraful, Javed Omar, Alok Kapali, Fahim Muntasir, Khaled Mahmud, Talha Jubair, Manjural Islam and Mohammad Rafique. Umpires: David Shepherd (England) and Asoka de Silva (Sri Lanka). TV umpire: Srinivas Venkataraghavan (India). Match referee: Gundappa Visvanath (India).
