Kolkata: Former star all-rounder Kapil Dev on Wednesday said that the Indian team was capable of sizing up the challenge in next year's World Cup in South Africa, but it did need a good wicket-keeper to match tough opponents in the game's showpiece event.

"We have the team and ammunition to deliver the goods. It is in fine fettle also. And I hope that it plays as it is doing now," Kapil told reporters during a function to promote Kinetic's new economy model motorcycle 'Boss'. However, the skipper of the 1983 World Cup winning squad cautioned that the going would not be easy for India in the World Cup. "We have to play tough opponents there. So it won't be that easy." Asked to pinpoint the areas that left scope for improvement in the side, he said, "If you ask for improvements there can be so many. But I feel that the One-day team needs a good wicket-keeper." On whether he wanted a replacement for Rahul Dravid, who has been doing duty behind the stumps for the team in One-dayers, Kapil said, "Dravid has done a good job in recent tournaments. But I feel that stop gap keepers can manage the job for some time, but for a tournament like World Cup, you need a specialist wicket-keeper."
