Peshawar:The famed Indian top order came undone but a late resistance built around Yuvraj Singh's 65 helped India post a respectable 244 for nine in the third One-day International against Pakistan in Peshawar on Friday.

Put in to bat on a track that provided assistance to bowlers, India had a disastrous start as they lost three quick wickets including that of last match centurion Sachin Tendulkar for a naught.

But Yuvraj Singh played his heart out during his 76-ball knock that came with the help of seven fours and a six. The aggressive left-hander found an able ally in Lakshmipathy Balaji who scored another cameo knock of 21 off just 12 balls.

Some lusty hittings late in the innings by the duo ensured India crossed the 200-run mark that looked unlikely at one stage when the visitors had lost seven wickets for 167 in the 39th over.

The Pakistani bowlers justified their skipper Inzamam-ul Haq's faith and made up for the Karachi nightmare by snaring early wickets and ensuring that the trend of high-scoring matches in this five-match series, currently tied 1-1, was cut short.
