Hamilton: Play on day one of the second and final cricket Test match between India and New Zealand has been abandoned due to wet ground conditions at the Westpac Park on Thursday.

Both the umpires - Asoka de Silva of Sri Lanka and Daryl Harper of Australia - decided to abandon the day's play after making an inspection of the ground in the afternoon. Not a single ball could be bowled on the entire day at Westpac Park, which witnessed a heavy downpour last night.
