Bangalore: England under-19 team is having a dream run in Australia. It won its fifth game on Tuesday to maintain a clean slate. However, the last encounter against New South Wales turned out to be a stiff one, with England squeezing home victors by four runs. Having opted to bat, England found itself in trouble, as there was a middle order slump. But valuable knocks from Walker (38) and Wardlaw (37) helped the tourist post 209 for 9 in 50 overs. Opener Briggs contributed at the top of the order with 34. For NSW Aley picked 3 for 32. In reply, New South Wales made a valiant effort but fell short of the victory target by five runs. Aley with 65 was the top scorer. Poulton (20), Bennett (24), Clarke (25) and Farell (21) chipped in for the local team.Since England is not permitted to compete for the title, NSW will play Queensland on Thursday.
