Chittagong: Nine promising cricketers were among 10 killed when the over-loaded three-wheeler they were travelling in collided head-on with another vehicle near Chittagong in the early hours on Friday.The players, aged between 18 and 25 years, were going to Fateyabad, 20 km north of Chittagong, to participate in a tournament, police said. Their match, which was to be played on Friday, has been suspended for three days as a mark of respect.The accident occurred when the three-wheeler collided with a van coming from the opposite direction on a narrow stretch of the Chittagong-Rangamati road. The 10th victim was the driver of the ill-fated three-wheeler. Five more cricketers were injured in the accident, three of them seriously. All the injured were admitted to the Chittagong Medical Hospital, where the condition of two cricketers and the helper of the three-wheeler was said to becritical. Police seized both the vehicles but the driver and helper of the van managed to escape. PTI
