The Australians managed 108 overs in the day, which emphasises the slow scoring rate. Although England put up 57 runs for the first wicket, thereafter wickets tumbled with none of the England batsmen able to build on the slow but steady start. The quicker bowlers Cathryn Fitzpatrick and Therese McGregor did most of the damage, while Karen Rolton's 2 for 6 runs underlines once again her all-round brilliance. For England Sarah Collyer (29) and Kathryn Leng (26) were the top scores.
