Colombo: Star Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar is expected to join the national team after the first three matches in the triangular One-day cricket series starting here on Wednesday.India captain Saurav Ganguly said on Monday that Tendulkar, who was not picked in the original 15-member squad due to a foot injury, had been recovering quickly and should be available after the first three encounters.Indian Cricket Board Secretary Jaywant Lele had said last week that Tendulkar would join the team only one match before the August 5 final, against New Zealand on August 2."He is recovering very fast," said Ganguly. "It's good that he will miss only the first three games and is expected to be back for the remaining league matches and the final if we make it."Fortunately, it is just a minor bruise," said Ganguly of Tendulkar's injury.Tendulkar, the first batsman to reach 10,000 runs in One-dayers, also has a record 29 centuries to his credit.India will play six league matches - three each against New Zealand and Sri Lanka opening its campaign against the Kiwis in a day-night encounter on August 20.India's fourth match is against the hosts at Dambulla on August 28.
