New Delhi: Sports Minister Vikram Varma on Tuesday asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to formulate a Code of Conduct to regulate product endorsements by cricketers.
"An idea is slowly gaining ground that excessive endorsements by cricketers is affecting their performance," Varma told 'Aaj Tak'. "BCCI should try to remove such notions. I think BCCI should come up with a Code of Conduct to govern the endorsements by the cricketers," Varma said. Varma's comments came in the wake of India's disappointing start to the World Cup.
