Delayed start: Pakistan elects to bat in 38 overs match
Bulawayo: Zimbabwe was on the verge of qualifying for the World Cup Super Sixes, knocking England out in the process, after its match against Pakistan was halted three times due to bad weather on Tuesday.Pakistan was 73 for 3 in 14 overs after electing to take first strike when rain once again hit the Queens Sports Club. Saeed Anwar was on 40 while Younis Khan had yet to score. If 25-overs-a-side are not bowled, Zimbabwe will get two points, two ahead of England, and qualify for the next round with Australia and India.Pakistan, which has eight points and needed a big win over Zimbabwe to move up, may have to return home with an additional two points. If the match is abandoned, Zimbabwe will extract revenge for England forfeiting its match at Harare on February 13 due to security and moral concerns.
