Montreal: Ice-bound Canada hailed on Wednesday Canada's shock win over Test-playing cricket nation Bangladesh in the World Cup in South Africa.Austin Codrington grabbed five for 27 as Canada enjoyed its greatest moment in international cricket on Tuesday with a 60-run victory over Bangladesh in the World Cup One-day series."Miracle on grass: Canada weekend cricketers shock heavily favoured Bangladesh at World Cup," ran the Globe and Mail's headline. "Canada stuns world with win at cricket championship," trumpeted the National Post. However, the French-speaking papers relegated Canada's first win ever in cricket's showpiece to an agency report on page 10. And the West Coast papers were more concerned with injury worries affecting the Edmonton Oilers after their National Hockey League (NHL) 5-4 ice hockey win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.Canada, which made its only other World Cup appearance in 1979, qualified this time after finishing third in the ICC Trophy tournament for non-Test playing nations back home in Toronto in 2001. Canada next plays Kenya at Cape Town on Saturday.
