Australia is struggling at 60 for 4 (44 overs) in its second innings, a lead of just 7 runs. Lisa Sthalekar (18 not out) and Alex Blackwell (3 not out) were at the crease at close of play on day 3. Earlier Australia was successful in restricting England to 187 conceding a lead of 53 runs. In reply, Australia was reduced to 19 for 1 in the 12th overs with Kris Britt back in the pavilion for 3, leg before wicket to Pearson.Soon England made further inroads picking up the prize wickets of Clark, Rolton and Jones.Belinda Clark was caught at mid-wicket by Sarah Collyer off Lucy Pearson for 16, Karen Rolton was caught at backward point by Lydia Greenway off Laura Newton for 15 and first innings topscorer, Mel Jones, was caught behind off Pearson for just 4. Pearson now has 10 wickets for the match. Kathryn Leng missed out on her hat-trick. Australia will now have to rely on the lesser bats to try and forge a lead of at least 150 to stand any chance of turning this match around or saving it.Earlier, play resumed at 10.30 am, with alternating periods of dark clouds and brilliant sunshine. Australia lifted in intensity this morning with Emma Twining the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets to have England 187 all out after it was 151 for 4 overnight. Lydia Greenway was first to fall, bowled for 31. Claire Taylor then followed lbw for 48 before captain Clare Connor was caught in close by Karen Rolton for 3. Hayes was on a hat-trick when she dismissed Laura Newton (16) bowled and Lucy Pearson (0) leg before wicket.Julie Hayes and Emma Twining both finished with 3 for 32 off 21.4 and 26 overs respectively.
