New Delhi: Hailing India's "historic" win against Pakistan in a World Cup match at Centurion, Sports Minister Vikram Varma on Saturday said the win had rubbished Pakistan's claims that India was "afraid" of playing them. "It is a historic win. The team deserves full accolades from the entire country," Varma said after India completed an emphatic six-wicket win against Pakistan to book its berth in the Super Sixes."They have made the country proud with their performance," Varma said. This was the first game between the two countries in nearly three years as India has refused to play Pakistan because of Islamabad's support to cross-border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir."This only goes to show how misplaced Pakistani views were that we were not playing with them because we were afraid of losing to them," he said.
