Bangalore: Left-arm spinner Sunil Joshi again picked up six wickets as Karnataka inflicted an innings and 11 run defeat on Kerala in the Ranji Trophy Plate Division final on Thursday. Responding to Kerala's first innings score of 190, the hosts, who resumed on the third day on 293 for five, piled up 405. Continuing the good work of skipper J Arun Kumar and debutant Sudhindra Shinde who made 84 runs each, V S Thilak Naidu and Dodda Ganesh frustrated the Kerala attack, making 59 and 50, respectively. For the visitors, K N Ananthapadmanabhan captured five wickets for 118 runs, while Sree Santh and M Suresh Kumar scalped two each. In its second knock, Kerala, which had conceded a first innings lead of 215 runs, was bowled out for 204 runs in 59.3 overs at the fag end of the day with the five- day match ending in three days at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. C Hemanth Kumar top-scored with 44, followed by Suresh Kumar, who contributed 33. Joshi, who had taken 6 for 62 in the first essay, again was in devastating form, scalping a similar number of victims giving away 75 runs in 23.3 overs.
