WC 2003 - India team condoles Mumbai bomb blast victims

Centurion: India's World Cup team on Friday condemned the bomb blast which rocked a suburban train in Mumbai on Thursday evening killing 11 and injuring 65 people."The Indian team is deeply shocked by the loss of lives in Mumbai as a result of the bomb blast," a statement from the team said. "The team deplores the violent act and conveys its condolences to the families of the victims.

"The statement was issued as Saurav Ganguly's men played New Zealand in their last Super Sixes match of the World Cup.Two members of the team, batting star Sachin Tendulkar and all-rounder Ajit Agarkar, hail from Mumbai, regarded as the nursery of Indian cricket.Copyright AFP 2001
