New Delhi: On the eve of India's encounter with Australia in the World Cup final on Sunday, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had some encouraging words for the team, asking them to "emulate Arjun" and bring the Cup again to the country. Although Vajpayee was speaking at a function to mark the closing of a shooting tournament, cricket seemed to dominate his mind and heart. "It will not be out of place to say that our hearts and minds are focussed on Sundays final match," he said.Appreciating the performance of "our boys in blue", he said the team had done India "proud". "After an initial setback, they have done well and never looked back," the Prime Minister said."My message to (skipper) Saurav (Ganguly) and his team is that they should emulate Arjun. Aim at the Cup and bring it again to India," Vajpayee said. Meanwhile in Johannesburg, Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly who was overwhelmed by a special message form the Indian Prime Minister on Saturday, said the team would do its best to win the Cup to reciprocate the good wishes of the people back home. "It's good for the team to receive such words of encouragement from the Prime Minister. We would like to win the World Cup for him and people back home," Ganguly said at a special function at the team hotel where Sports Minister Vikram Varma delivered Vajpayee's message to the team. Varma also handed over a cricket bat signed by Vajpayee, symbolising the countrys good wishes for the team, to Ganguly. PTI
