London: England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, who has withdrawn from next week's second Test against Zimbabwe because a shoulder injury means he cannot bowl, proved he was still fit enough to bat with a blistering hundred for Lancashire against Kent at Canterbury. Flintoff's 154 helped the visitors recover from 52 for five on the first day of their English County Championship first division match on Friday. Known for his powerful hitting Flintoff, who missed England's innings and 92 run win in the first Test at Lord's last week with the same injury, took eight sixes and 17 fours off the Kent attack as Lancashire made 347. Elsewhere England discard Graham Thorpe's 156 was the centrepiece of champions Surrey's 401 for eight against Sussex at The Oval.
