Bangalore: Hemang Badani, who led India 'A' in One-day Internationals during their recent England tour, believes he has done his job as a batsman and indicated that he is looking forward to the nod from Selectors for the upcoming series against New Zealand at home. "I have done by my job by getting my runs. I leave the rest to the selectors. Let's see what happens," Badani told reporters during the course of the conditioning camp here when asked how he looked forward to the series against the Kiwis.
"I always believed I had the ability and it was only question of transforming it into runs," he said to a question. "Leading India 'A' was a 'great feeling' as it's the second best side of the country," he said. "England tour was great," Badani said. "We did reasonably well against South Africa also. After getting out for 340, we bowled them out for 430, which even England could not do against them in the first Test," he said. "I got runs. It's nice to be part of the tour when the side is doing well," Badani said.
Pointing out that playing in England is very important, especially the experience one gets, he said it would stand the cricketer in good stead in future tours. "It's good to go out there (England) and get runs," he said.
