"Earlier, I was very brash but after taking over the captaincy I have mellowed down a lot and am more focussed," Ponting said. "I have adjusted well into it (captaincy) and I am quite comfortable leading the side now. In fact, I am maturing with time and leading a side full of talented men has made me more responsible," he said.
Looking ahead to Australia's battle against India, in the tri-series also involving New Zealand, Ponting said India at home were a good side who cannot be taken lightly. In a brief chat with reporters during a photo-shoot, Ponting said, "India is a competitive side with a strong batting line-up and there is no way we will take them lightly. We have to be well prepared for all eventualities." "In order to prepare ourselves well, we are having two camps at home one before the Zimbabweans' visit and the other soon after it," Ponting added.
