Mohali: Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly was on Wednesday ruled out of the series- deciding second cricket Test against New Zealand starting in Mohali on Thursday after doctors advised him rest. Ganguly underwent a minor surgical procedure for an abscess on his left upper thigh last evening and doctors have advised him rest for a couple of days.
The Indian captain was present during the net session on Wednesday morning but did not practice. Vice-captain Rahul Dravid will captain the side in the match on Thursday. "Ganguly has not been feeling very well," Dravid said adding he was looking forward to the game.
