Kolkata: Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly, who has to undergo a fitness test before the tri-series final on Tuesday had a good amount of batting and fielding practice at the net session of the Indian team at Eden Gardens on Monday. Ganguly, who preferred not to bowl, did some stretching and running exercise separately under the watchful eyes of team physio Andrew Leipus.
Starting with a 20-minute warm up session by playing volleyball, the Indian cricketers, led by Ganguly, underwent a three-hour long practice at the Gardens amidst loud cheers from the crowd, who thronged the stadium in large numbers for the big match on Tuesday.
The Indian think tank - Ganguly, his deputy Rahul Dravid, little master Sachin Tendulkar and coach John Wright - later had a close look at the wicket. The skipper also tested the bounce of the pitch.Earlier, the Australian cricket team had a light practice session during morning hours.
