Kolkata: Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly was on Tuesday ruled out of the final of the Tri-series against Australia at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata after failing a fitness test.

Ganguly, who had pulled his left groin muscle during the crucial league match against New Zealand on November 15, made way for Rahul Dravid as a skipper of the team. Ganguly underwent a fitness test under team physio Andrew Leipus at the Eden Gardens before start of the crucial encounter after which he was ruled out of the match. Hemang Badani was included in the playing eleven in place of Ganguly.
