First Test ends in a tame draw
Mumbai: A fine all-round performance by Aimee Mason (42 not out and four for 16) helped the touring New Zealand women's cricket team to crush Mumbai President's XI by 138 runs in a One-day warm-up match at the Wankhede Stadium. After being put into bat first, the world champions made 217 all out off their stipulated 50 overs with Sara McGlashan top scoring 80 off 120 balls with six fours and two sixes. Aimee Mason's quick fire 42 came off just 20 runs with five fours and two sixes. For the hosts, Sonali Chandav (two for 38) and Chandrani Kamble (two for 25) bowled well while Arundhathi Kerkeree top scored for the home team with 27 off 54 balls before they were all out for just 79 runs off 29.2 overs. The Kiwis will take on the India in the first of the five One-dayers at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on December 4.
